A question was asked in the House to-day, of the Minister of Agriculture, bv Mr. Glenn (Rnngitikei), if it was true that Mr.' Lonsdale, •manager of the Moumahaki State Experiments 1 Farnv had resigned and, if so. was the reason given that the farm had been "starved” for experimental purposes for want of funds.

The Minister (the Hon. W. Nosworthy) replied that no official intimation had been received as to the manager's resignation, although lie believed there was a of his considering whether he should leave the Government employ or not for the purpose of taking up farming privately. As to the suggestion that the farm had been ‘‘starved,/ there was more money expended upon it last year for experimental purposes than ever before. T>tiring the last year operations had design cdly consisted of demonstration work, but in addition experiments in topdressing with various fertilisers and in renewing clover on old pastures had been carried out. In order to properly carry out the demonstration • work _ of the year considerably more working capital wa's provided than in any previous year, and this was more than ( returned in the form of revenue.
