The boring operations at Waitangi in search of oil, which were held up for some time owing to the lack of water supply, have now been resumed under the direction of Mr. A. D. M‘Donald, tho expert borer for Messrs. J. Clark and W. D. Lysnar. There is now a sufficient supply of water for the operations to be carried on, and the experts’ report, dated May 29, intimated that the bore was now down 123 ft. and was passing through hard sandstone formation.—Poverty Bay Herald.
