SALE OF HIDES. Mr Newton King reports that at his hide sale held on May 25, average catalogues were submitted to a full bench of buyers. Compared to the previous sale, light cow advanced Id to per lb. Inferior and damaged hides and calf were dull of sale. In sympathy with other markets, tallow declined os to 10s per cwt. Cow, light 15d to 17Jd, medium 17Jd to 184 d, heavy 20d to 22d; ox, light 16d to 18gd, medium 19|d to 22id, heavy 19id to 23d; farmers’ cow 14|d to 19)d, cut 14jd to lojd ; yearlings, heavy 17|d to 23d, light 19d to 27d, cut lOd to 22d, slippy 8-Ad; calf skins, best 35id to 36Jd, seconds 2o)d to 36d, cut 24id to 27d, slippy lOd to I4jd; horse hides 16s to 35s each, cut 11s 6d to 16s.
