BRITISH PETROLEUM DEVELOPMENT COMPANY. The British Petroleum Development Company, Ltd., of which Mr. Percy A. Hadley is managing director, has completed the erection of its derrick and drilling plant oa the Upper Carrington Road, and drilling operations will, it is expected, bo commenced within the next few weeks. The plant is a particularly modern one and contains several improvements now to New Zealand, The company has also installed its own electrical lighting plant. Mr. Hadley recently returned from the United States, where he secured the services of three experts.specially qualified in their respective branches of the industry, and these men arc now engaged in getting everything in readiness for commencing operations.
