Mr. Polf, the head of the American delegation, in conversation with Von Lernsner, declared that Germany would commit a grevious error which would prove disastrous to her, if she interpreted in her favour Washington’s delay in the ratification of the Peace Treaty. He added that there were divergencies regarding the Treaty, hut there were no two opinions in the United States regarding Germany’s obligation, and her affection binding tho Allies, notably to France. Any attempt on the part” of Germany to escape her obligations would accentuate the strong anti-German sentiment existing in tho United States.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
