PLUNKET SOCIETY.

The committee held its monthly meeting in the Plunket Rooms on Monday. Present: Mesdames Walter Weston (in the chair), S. G. Smith, Ambury, Newton King. Millar, Jenkin, Stuart Russell, M'Hardy, Webster, Nicholson, Standish; Misses Wade and Andrews. Apologies were received from Mesdames Gordon Eraser, H. Russell, and Miss Stanford. Nurse’s report for month ending November 30 was read as follows:—New cases 10, babies -under care (including news cases) 100, mothers preparing milk in homes 61, mothers shown how to make milk 8, visits to homes 280, visitors to rooms 20, mothers and babies 266, letters received 2, babies taken off books 42. The secretary was instructed to write to the Central Council and find out if it is possible to secure the services of a- second Plunket nurse for this district. A good deal of business was gone through in connection with the recent “Baby Day” street collection, and a hearty vote of thanks was passed to all who had helped to make “Baby Day” such a huge success.
