| A HEAVY FINE. i FOR SELLING SKIMMED MILK, Rev Press Association I CHRISTCHURCH, Deo. 9. Leonard Hadfield, milk vendor, was fined £75 in the Magistrate’s Court for ; selling milk below the standard. The ; milk was 53.85 per cent, short of cream ; as calculated from the standard of milk ; fat. Defendant had been twice previousj ]y convicted. ! The magistrate, Mr. M'Car thy, said j the deliberate adulteration of milk was i nothing short of murder. The offence 1 had evidently been wilfully committed ; and skim milk sold as mire milk. De- • fendant and his wife denied this ; but I the magistrate declined to alter his de- | cision.
