INFLUENZA EPIDEMIC.

CASES OF AIILD CHARACTER. Per Pres. Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 2. During the week ended noon, December 1, 70 cases of influenza were reported in the AVellington health district. Only four cases were of a pneumonic type, the remainder being classed as mild. Dr. AVatt, district health officer, expressed the opinion that the position was quite satisfactory 1 AUCKLAND, Dec. 2. Twenty-four cases of influenza were notified in tho Auckland health district during the 24 hours ended at noon to-day. They comprise nine in tho city and fifteen in the country. In addition five cases of pneumonia were reported, four in tho city and one in the country. All the influenza cases were stated to be of a mild nature.
