A NAME REMOVED. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, August 6. Tho application by Reginald Charles Read, farmer, of AVhenuakoa, to have his name removed from tho military defaulters’ list was heard by Mr. Widdowson, S.M., to-day. Counsel said that when Road was called up for military service he appealed. His appeal was dismissed by the Military Service Board. Applicant then wrote to the Minister of Defence lodging an appeal to be heard before the final court of appeal. Read ignored three notices for parade for medical examination, as he understood the appeal was pending. Ho was then brought before a court-mar-tial and sentenced to 130 days’ detention. The Defence representative (Captain Dyer) said ho had been instructed not to oppose tho application, which was granted.
