SOME ALLEGED SCANDALS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. LONDON, July 31. The case of the Hon. Violet Douglas Pennant, Commandant of the Women’s Royal Air Force, which' has been agitating political circles for many months, took a dramatic turn in the ‘House of Lords, when it was decided by 69 votes to 42 in favour of a Select Committee to investigate Miss Donglas-Pennant’s dismissal from tho Women’s Air Force. Lord Stanhope, in moving for tho committee, alleged grave scandals between army officers and girls training as motor drivers, some of whom returned drunk from London at 4 o clock in the morning in Government cars.
