Bonar Law said the Peace Conference had not decided the fate of the Gooben or salved the Scapa warships. The Government realised the enormous amount of repairs necessary for merchant ships, and would not agree *to undertaking extensive repairs to warships to the detriment of iporo urgently' needed merchantmen. —Aus.N./5.
