The management committee of the ■Wellington Rugby Union to-night decided not to play representative matches with South Canterbury, Otago and King Country, owing to difficulties of travel. It was decided to play homo and home games with Canterbury. The Auckland Rugby Union’s decision to play under the amended rules was discussed, and the following resolution was passed : ‘'That the Auckland Rugby Football Union be implored to reconsider its decision to play all tho amended rules, and in tho interests of the game of Rugby to adhere to tho authority of the Now Zealand Rugby Football Union.” WELLINGTON TRAMWAY TEAM. DELAYED AT NEW PLYMOUTH. Among the travellers who have been inconvenienced by tho cutting out of tho first trip of the Rarawa this week are tho members of the Wellington Tramwaymen’s Football Team, who came from ■Wellington to New Plymouth by motor car yesterday, expecting to proceed to Onehuuga by boat last night. The team was scheduled to play the Auckland tramwaymen on Thursday, but as it will not bo able to leave hero by the Rarawa nntil Thursday evening the match will have to be postponed until after its arrival. Auckland are the holders of the Kohu Shield, which is competed for by Rugby teams from among the tramwaymen of the Dominion, and tho Wellington men are attempting to wrest it from them. Arrangements have been made for a match to be played to-morrow between a Star Club fifteen and the Wellington team in Pukekura Park, commencing at 2.15. Tho team, the manager and secretary of which are Messrs. C. Palchett and C. Mayell respectively, consists of the following: H. Rowe (captain), N. Loveridge (vicecaptain), P. Yates, Trindcr, Moriarily, Sullivan, Green, Anderson, Kicholls, Andrews, Strong, Rumbletou, Minnefe, Peacock, Roderick; emergencies, Saul and Biggs. The Star team will bo chosen from the following, who are requested to be on the ground at 2 o’clock: Retch, Falwasser, Penniall, Casey, Lee, E. Lovoridge, Cliff, Blucher, Spence, Fay, Koea, Francis, Richards, Sitns, Stanley, Dean, Kettlowell, Lowry, M. Skipper. Mr. J. Johnson has been appointed referee for the match. REFEREES FOB THIS WEEK. Wellington Tramway Representatives, which is to bo played on the Recreation Grounds to-morrow afternoon. should attract a large attendance. The visiting team, will undoubtedly, prove hard to beat, comprising as it does, some of the best Wellington senior .players. The Star players are all in good form and eager for file fray. The match, which will start at 2.15, should prove exceptionally interesting.
