BRITISH PURCHASE OF SHIPS.

NEW YORK, May 21. The directors of the International Mercantile Marine Company have approved the proposed sale of the Company’s English tonnage to a British syndicate. The board decided to call a special meeting of shareholders on June 16 to act on the offer.
The sale will include So ships of 85,300 tons, including the Olympic, Adriatic, Baltic, 41 large J/eyland lino freighters and all the other assets of the six British subsidiaries. The price is approximately 130 million dollars. — Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
