FATAL EXPLOSION AT COLOGNE.

LABOURITES TO VISIT GERMANY

LONDON, May 17,

The commission of the Berne international Labour Congress lias accepted an invitation from the German Majority and Independent Socialists to send a deputation to Germany to, investigate the situation and report to the internationales. Henderson (England), Wibant (Holland), Mistfhl (France), and Huysmans (Belgium) will constitute the deputation. The date of the visit will not be fixed till peace is signed.—Reuter. GERMANS HOPING TO EMIGRATE. LONDON, May 27. The Daily Express’ "jerlin correspondent says that hundreds of thousands of Germans intend to emigrate to South America, Canada and Australia in order to avoid taxation. Official departments are planning to regulate the emigration. —United Service.

Mr. Massey, interviewed, said the Imperial Guards Battalion would furnish a great memorial of the New Zealanders’ lighting. He hoped New Zealanders would take, a more active share in naval defence.
