MILITARY SERVICE BOARD.
APPEALS FOR TEACHERS, PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, Jan. 24. Tho Wellington Education Board made application to the Military Service Board to-day for the exemption of three teachers. In the case of one an unusual position was disclosed. A teacher fSergeant Duncan) had enlisted, gone to the front, become unfit, and was now doing clerical work in London. Tho Education’ Board requested that, in view of. the shortage of teachers, he be brought back and given leave to take up teaching work again. As it is probable regulations dealing ’with such cases will be gazetted shortly the case was deferred for a week. Tho general question of the exemption of teachers was also deferred.
Tlie chairman said the board fully appreciated the position.
