VIOLENT GERMAN ATTACKS.
REPELLED Will HEAVY LOSSES.
EAST AFRICAN CAMPAIGN ENDED. AMERICA WILL FIGHT TO A FINISH. The Germans continued their violent attacks on thic new British lines, but suffered enormous losses and gained little or nothing. Sir Douglas Haig’s latest report states that infantry attacks have ceased. The conditions in portions of the Austrian Empire are reported to be very bad indeed. President Wilson gives a clear reply to the German intrigues by declaring that the war must be' fought out till victory is attained and that no peace can he made with the present German leaders.
