DEATH UNDER CHLOROFORM. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, Dec. 3. Dorothy Mary Ruth Silcock, a single woman, aged 26 years, died on Saturday under the influence of chloroform while having teeth extracted. An inquest was held vestorday, and a verdict was returned that she died of heart failure white under the influence of an anasthotic. GIRL KILLED BY MOTOR-CAR. AUCKLAND, Dec. 3. A gerl named Gwen Turnley, aged cHitj who' was knocked down by a motor-car at Edendalc, died four hours later. A Taxi driven by a man-named William, and carrying one passenger, was travelling on the road when the spring broke and the car dashed, on to the footpath, knocking the girl down. A CAPTAIN’S SUICIDE. DUNEDIN, Dec. 3. Captain .John Scott, late master of the Union Company’s boat'Kamona, cut his. throat this morning and died while on the way to the hospital. lie left the Kamona at Lyttelton last M ednesday on sick leave and came to his homo at Dunedin. . .
