PEDIGREE JERSEYS.

SALE OF ME. H. SIDNEY'S HERD. At the Rahotu saleyards on Wednesday Mr. Newton King held Mr. H. Stonex’s sale-of pedigree Jersey cattle. Although there were only 23 head to be sold there was a ibig attendance of buyers from all parts of Taranaki. The cattle were catalogued' by Mr. Stones in neat form and yarded m good condition considering that Mr. Stones’s farm is situated at tho top of the Kahui Road and on a level with the . Forest Reserve. Recognising that this was a genuine dispersal sale buyers soon got busy and good bidding was obtained right through tho sale. The highest price obtained was 55 guineas for a seven-year cow, Lady Princess 4th, by Dalesman (imp.), out of Lady Princess 2nd, and purchased by Mr. Harry Salway, Bell Block. The ten-year-old bull K See 7th, by K.C.B. out of Primrose 33rd (a,Silver King oow), was purchased by Mr. J. H. Street, of Bell Block, to head his herd at 34 guineas. Tho purchaser must be considered luoky to get this bull away from the coast, as ho has left some great dairy stock round that part of Taranaki.
