ENTERTAINMENTS.
BAKER BROS.’ CIRCUS. By 2 o’clock this afternoon Devon St. West presented an animated appearance, crowds .if people wenuing their wav towards the old tennis courts, just past the Post Office, which is the scene of Baker Bros.’ new circus. Children had all been looking forward to this great event for days past, and a peep into the great tent showed that already a largo crowd of merry-faced youngsters and their mothers had assembler] and were anxiously awaiting the longed-for moment when the ejrctis should commence. Reports indicate that they would not be disappointed, and would spend a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon watching the performing animals, equestrian and aerial feats, clowns, and the many other items that go to make the circus. Undoubtedly the most thrilling act of all is the wonderful feats performed by the Staig trio on their bicycles in the immense steel cage, the Globe of Death. The whole peHormance is well worth viewing, not only by the children, but also by older people, and it is confident- . ly expected that a largo number will turn out for this evening’s performance.
