NO AGREEMENT REACHED YET. PETROGBAD, May 2. A message says the rumour that an agreement between Italy _ and the Entente has been concluded is undoubtedly premature, but negotiations are ■ progressing. Italy Has been reminded that if she postponed her decision until the Russians' descend to the Hungarian plain her support will largely bo deprived of its value. INTERVENTION MAY BE SOON. Petrograd states that in well-informed quarters it is believed Italian intervention will occur sooner than is expected. Apparently the Austrians are prepared for tbo worst. The military authoriti«; at Trieste printed thousands of manifestoes in the Italian, German, and Serbo-Croatian languages for distribution in the frontier regions, informing tbo people that tbo Italian army was a foe aud was ready to occupy territory which the authorities aro compelled to abandon.
