A special service lor children was .held in the morning, when the scholars occupied the centre seats in the church, and the pastor (Rev. T. H. Rosoveirel gave, an interesting illustrated address on the words "Let yontylight shine.” In the afternoon a service ’was held in the church, at which the prizes won for attendance by tlie children and those .won by the successful candidates in the Presbyterian Assembly’s examination were "presented. The superintendent rend his annual report. In the evening a special young people’s service was held, at which the mouthers of the junior and senior Bible classes occupied tlie centre seats. Special reference was made and prayer oHe red for those members of the class that were with the expeditionary force at the Dardanelles. The singing of the children was a pleasing feature throughout the day. Following is tlie annual report on the school There are at present on the roll 157 scholars, with an average at- , tendance of 122, which average must he considered satisfactory. The toach- ■ ers and officers to the number of sixteen have rendered faithful and devoted service during the year. YVc have lost the valuable services of Miss B. Ben, ; and we desire to record our appreciation of her faithful work. The primary : division under the care of Airs. Ewing is in a very flourishing condition and the same can also bo said of the Junior Girls’ Bible Class under the able direction of Mrs. Roseveare. This year the Sabbath School has laboured under the disability of having hud a change in the superimeiidoncy. The congregation tn.iy remember that Mr. N. K. AJacDiarmid had tendered his resignation prior to the commencement of the year, but ho kindly consented to continue in office until a new superintendent could be found. On June 12 Mr. P. Mathcson was duly appointed to the office. In order to acknowledge tlie splendid and devoted services rendered so willingly and ungrudgingly to the school for a period of twentv-one years by Air. AlacDiarmid, a social reunion of all available teachers past and present took place on Juno 23, when wo bade farewell to a superintendent who had endeared himself to all those who had had the privilege of serving under

him. Tor the Presbyterian Assembly’s examination fifteen candidates entered, all doing well. One scholar (Eileen Earquhar) receives throe first-class prizes, one for Scripture, one for Catechism and one for Essay. Tho first class for boys lias now been formed into a Junior Boys’ Bible Class, and through their own efforts and the generosity of the congregation have boon able to build a .suitable 1 class-room, where they now moot under tho ahlo toachership of Mr. W. J. Mitnro. The cradle roll has been in existence for two and a half years. We have had 79 names on the roll during that time, 15 of that number have left the district, and about 11 have l>een promoted to the infant department of the Sunday School, which has about 50 names at present on the roll. In conclusion wo desire to express our gratitude to God for all that has been accomplished in tho past, and we look forward with every confidence to the now year under His guidance, believing that lie will bless all work when faithfully and prayerfully done for Him.
