MUIROA.

FROM OF F. OWN CORRESPONDENT. April 29.—The busy season is now just about over, its end being hastened by the very severe frosts lately experienced. It is somowhat remarkable to see such heavy frosts while old Egraont remains as free from snow as during the hottest part of summer. The prosperity and progressiveners of the district are being marked by 1 the adoption of milking machines and the übiquitous motor-car. Porrott were elected committeemen for the ensuing year.

On Saturday last, April 24, a team from Huiroa School visited Douglas and played a cricket, match against a team representing that school. The visitors wore hospitably entertained at tea (provided by the Douglas people and served by Mesdamcs Webb. Main, and Jones), hospitality which thoy grcatly appreciated and large to have an opportunity of returning at an early date.
