BAD WEATHER IN TASMAN SEA. For the past week a very severe easterly gale, has been raging in the Tasman Sen, and this has been responsible for serious delay to steamers trading between' Wellington and Sydney. The Union Company’s R.M.S. Maitai, which should have arrived at ‘Wellington from Sydney on Wednesday last, advised by wireless that she would not make port before Thursday morning. The massage stated that the vessel.was having a particularlv rough time, and that several deck fittings had been lost. On account of hoi- late arrival the departure of the ■ Maitai for Rarotonga, Papeete, and San Francisco was postponed till 6 p.m. on Friday. A message received in Wellington from Sydney on Thursday slaved that the Moana, bound from Wellington to the Now South Wales port, bad been delayed by heavy weather. ROTOMAHANA RECOMMISSIONED.
