CYLDESDALE HORSE SOCIETY.

■MEETING OF COUNCIL. A meeting of the General Purposes Committee of tlje Council of the Clydesdalo Horse Society was hold in the society’s office, Crawford Street. Dunedin, on Thursday. Present: Mr. James Gow (rice-president), and Messrs. J. J. Charters and J. A. Johnstone. The following were elected members of the society;—Messrs. D. E. Grant, Gray, Outram; David Currie, Maugatua; James Doyle, Uoodlnnu, Tai Tapn ; Robert F. Indcr, Naseby; AVa 1 - ter Latham. Lauriston, by Ashburton; VVm. Montgomery, Banks, Kirkcudbright, Scotland: John E. O’Connell, GreenparU, Ngapuna; S. B. Taylor, Eiffeiton, by Ashburton ; and James Williamson, 'Bontaskin, North Taicri.

Application for prefixes were considered and .granted as follows; — 1 ’Pitcairns, ” applied for by Mr. John Hoag, inn., “Pitcairns,” Brooksidc. Canterbury. The prefix “Dunure,” applied for by a member, .was not granted. Notification of awards o) affiliation medals wore intimated from Kelso A. and P. Association, silver mydiil won by Mr. James A. Jenkins; Egmoni A. and P. Association, Haw era, won by Mr. N. J. Goodson; .Southland Metropolitan A. and P. Association, Invercargill, medal fbr best colt won by'Mr. Robert Kennedy Drummond, and for best filly won by Mr. Walter Blakie, Royal Bush; lapanni Farmers’ Club, bronxn medal won by Mr. Jas. A. Jenkins; Feilding A. and P. Association, Feilding, silver medal won by .Mr. Peter M'Naughton, Patca; Wyndham A. and P. Association, won by Mr. Johnstone M’yllie, Edendale. Tlie secretary intimated that a number of awards had not yet been made known; on receipt of these the order for the medals would he sent home. A small amount of Editing Committee work was put through, find accounts amounting to .Clt’O were passed for payment.
