A meeting of the Technical School Advisory Committee was held on Tuesday evening, Sir. F. Jackson presiding. It was reported that the attendance at the respective classes was showing a satisfactory increase, particularly those in engineering. Meteorologists assure us that' titjto aro no such things ,as equinoctial gares, though there is generally rough weather in the spring and autumn. The present gale, however, made a very fair shot for the equinox (March 21), and believers in the old theory will see in it confirmation of their ideas. Doubt still seems to exist in som« people’s minds as to the number of attempts they are ’ allowed in the Herald “Preferential Voting Contest.” We wish it to be understood that everyone can send in as many attempts as they wish without affecting any previous efforts they have made. Any number of coupons may be enclosed in the same envelope, provided they are accompanied by the requisite amount in coin or stamps. Mr. Van Heck’s Orchestra are requested to meet for rehearsal at Griffiths’ Buildings to-night at 8 o’clock.*
