ROWING.

THE AMATEUR DEFINITION. BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH—COPYRIGHT. (Received March 25, 10.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 25. The Tasmanian Rowing Association has asked the New South Wales Association to support the application of Now Zealand oarsmen to be allowed to send a crew to the forthcoming championships in Victoria. It is understood the executive has replied to the effect that each competitor must sign the necessary declaration set out by the Inter-State Conference. This revives the question whether New Zealand oarsmen are amateurs according to the New South Wales definition.
