THE EASTERN CABLE.
REPAIRS EFFECTED. BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH.—COPSTHQUI (Received March 25, 1.35 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 25. The cable steamer Patrol has returned after having overhauled tho Eastern cable between Botany and Nelson. The actual cost of repairs was £25,000. The cable was laid in 1876, and found in hotter condition than expected. The new ones are both in excellent condition.
