At a British Association meeting, Dr. Fournier Dalde exhibited a reading Optophone, which enables the totally blind to read ordinary type by sound, provided it is of large size and printed on gelatine or other transparent material. He hopes soon to enable the blind to read all letterpress printed in black on ordinary paper.
