CRICKET.

AUSTRALIANS ON TOUR.

By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received Jnly g, 9 a-m.) NEW YORK, July 1. In the'second game, the Philadelphia team scored 164 in its first innings, and the Australians in their first .attempt scored 412 for five wickets (Macartney 109, Bardsley not out 101, Cody 97). HAYWARD’S HUNDREDTH CENTURY. Playing for bis county (Surrey) against Lancashire, Tom Hayward scored his hundredth century in first-class cricket. Previous to this Dr. W. G. Grace was the only cricketer who had scored over a hundred centuries, and he scored 126 separate hundreds, a record which will probably stand for a 'long time yet. C. B. Fry up to the end of last season had 92 centuries to his credit, but both he and Hayward, the latter especially , have a lot of leeway to make up. Hayward is 42 years of age and 1/ ry is 41.
