CHRISTCHURCH, -July 1Frederick Hobbs, a married man, 45 years of ago, a boilermaker in the Railway Workshops, who was admitted to the hospital on June 19 suffer mg from a crushed loot, died there as tho result of tho accident. DEATH OF A CHILD. , AUCKLAND, Juno 30. On Sunday morning the threo-months-old hoy baby of Mr. and Mrs. Beer, of Remuera, died, apparently ■as a result ot injuries sustained in n fall from a perambulator tiro days earlior. On Friday Mrs. Boer bad left tho baby in a perambulator in tho yard, at tho hack door, while she was busy with her household duties. Suddenly Mrs. Beer hoard cries, and ran out,' to find that, the pram, was overturned and tho baby was on tho ground. Evidently tho pram, had been touched, and had run down an incline and capsized. Tho baby did not seem to ho hurt, and was soon all right, but on Saturday it became unwell, and Dr. Williams was called in. The child died on Sunday morning, and tho doctor was unable to certify as to the cause of death. FOUND DROWNED. GREYMOUTH, June 30. Thomas Maher, aged seventy-three, living alone in a, hut at Cobden, lias been missing since Juno 9. His body was fonmi yesterday floating in tho Cobden lagoon. At tho inquest a verdict of found drowned was returned.
