Australian Meats. — Sheep, light, 8 15-16 d; beef, hinds, 3|d. / South American Meats. Sheep, heavy 4 1-16 d, ewes Sifcl; beef, frozen hinds 4d, chilled hinds old. Other meats unchanged. Wheat. Quiet and steady. The wheat and flour afloat is 3,-125,000 bushels, including Continent 2,165,000 bushels, Atlantic 392,000 bushels, Pacific nil. Following is the High Commissioner’s cable, under date London, June 28. (Note. —Quotations, unless otherwise' specified, aro average market prices on spot.);— Mutton.—The market is firm. There has been no change in prices except for ewes. Canterbury 4Jd, light weight is as high at 4Jd, North Island 4jd, ewes 3 13-16 d. Lamb. —The market is weak on account of large shipments arriving; competition amongst holders of lamb to clear their stocks has lowered values ; prices hare, declined in all grades id, and in heavy weight 3-16 d; Canterbury 6id, heavy .weight 5 o-16d, other than Canterbury 5-Jd to s|d, according to weight. Beef. —The market is firm; New Zealand hides and fores 3Jd. The supplies of American chilled beef are large, but a good demand continues on account of the low prices previously accepted. Hinds 6-ld, fores 3Jd. Butter.—The market is steady and there is a good demand for the choicest, but there is a limited demand for low grade; there has been no change in prices, except New Zealand choicest. New Zealand 115 s. Cheese. —The market is firmer, with a good demand. New Zealand stocks have practically been cleared. New Zealand, white 63s 6d, coloured 61s 6d. Canadian, new make, white and coloured, 61s to 625. Hemp.—There has been considerable fluctuation in the market this week for New Zealand. The New Zealand market has advanced, and closed firmer. New Zealand good-fair £29 10s to £3O (nominal), fair £26 10s, forward shipment about 10s more. The Manila market is steady, with an improved demand; fair current Manila £3O; forward shipment £29 10s. The output from Manila for the week amounted to 15.000 bales. Wool.—The market remains firm. Cocksfoot.—The market is quiet, and there is small business doing in Danish at 42s 6d; buyers are not keen to do business in cocksfoot seed, but are waiting reports on the Continent and American crops.
