VICTORIA COLLEGE.

SHORT OF FUNDS. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, June 28. A large deputation of members of the Victoria College Council and Professorial Board waited on the Minister of Education to-day and stressed the parlous financial condition of the college. The Chairman of the College Council said that- if the Government did not do something this year it would mean that the college would have to shut its doors. Mr. Alien replied that the Government was inquiring into the position <!nd condition of the four University Colleges to see what could be done in the way of assistance.
