The Admiralty has ordered five airships from Vickers and Co., of Barrow, some of which will be Parsevals and others rigid. A successful trial has been made of the Maurice Jeanson 3i-ton hydroaeroplane. It is designed to attack dirigibles and worships. Leading shipowners in the Chamber of Commerce at Liverpool have initiated a scheme to provide a Liverpool flying corps for the nation.
