STATUS OF REPORTERS.

AT TERRITORIAL CAMPS. Per Press Association.PALMERSTON 3. Colonel Chaytor, in a statement made to the press, makes clear the position of reporters attending Territorial camp 4. While they are Territorials, he says, reporters are subject to military law, which prohibits their corresponding with their newspapers. As Territorials they are debarred from acting in a professional capacity at camps of instruction. They can, however, attend any other camp as reporters, where the military authorities will-pro-vido them with a tent, and the officers will be glad to make reporters honorary members of their messes. The military authorities will be glad to have papers represented in this manner.
