RECEIVES A PRESENTATION. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, May 2. What is prohabl# an unique honour was conferred upon Mr. Donald Robertson, formerly Secretary of the Post and Telegraph Department, now Chief Public Service Commissioner, when in the presence of nearly the whole of the members of the General Post Office staff he'was the recipient of a presentation to which every member in. file service contributed. This took the form of a handsome leather album containing the signatures'of every officer m. the . service, and another album containing the portraits of the officers he wan immediately connected with as Secretary. Mr. Rhodes, Postmaster-General, made the presentation and referred ip., eulogistic terms to Mr. Robertson’s exemplary manner of dealing with the staff, and congratulated him on the important position conferred on him. Mr. Robertson, replying to Mr. Rhodes, expressed his thanks for the generous remarks made ami for the handsome albums. He said: he l left. his old pc/ition with, .very mixed indeed. Most of those present were not born when he entered the service, and this made him feel very old. He paid a tribute to tlie loyal co-operation ’ of the staff throughout the service, and said that without loyalty it was iiapossribl© to achieve success in a department like the post office. 11 Ho referred to his, successor, Mr. Morris, as one of the best friends the staff had ever bad. In conclusion he wished everybody prosportiy and happiness. ,
