MUNICIPAL ELECTIONS.
TO-DAY’S POLLft The town presents quite a busy appearance to-day with tho many motor cars and cabs flying here and there twinging tho burgesses from the suburban districts into the various booths to vote. There are two candidates for the Mayoralty, Mr. J. S. S. Medley opposing the sitting Mayor, Mr. G AA . • Browne. Possibly the former is working the harder, and has quito a stream of'motors and a large committee at his bidding. For the Hospital Board there are three vacancies and six candidates, and here, too, some enthusiasm is being shown by would-be members. The Borough Councillors’ election ■ has brought out fourteen men for tho twelve seats, and opinions are very divided as to who are to be returned. Polling- this morning was not extraordinarily heavy; at tho main booth there being a steady and constant stream all the forenoon. The booths close at seven o’clock this evening. The arrangements of the returning officer (Mr. F. T. Bellringer) who is conducting all three elections, aro very complete, and he should be able to make nis declarations from the Town Hall at an early hour. NAPIER INTERESTED. , Per Press Association. NAPIER, April 30. There is intense interest in tho local elections, particularly with regard to the Harbour Board vacancies.
