RUGBY UNION

MEETING OF THE EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the executive of the Taranaki Rugby Union was held at Strattord on 'ihursday evening. There were p/resenl; Messrs. M'Leou (iu the chair), Garcia, Chalmers, O’Dea, Glenn, Lees, James, and fcikogiuud. The Eltliam Club wiAtc stating they were unable to raise a senior team, and asked that their district be incorporated with Stratford for this season, so as to enable them to play two junior teams.— This was agreed to, with a proviso that any senior players residing in Eltham should play for Kapouga, as Kapouga is also weak this season.

Mr. Tonics, representing the Patea Club, waited on the committee aud asked that boundaries be defined between Hawera and Patea.—lt was resolved to define a boundary, the dividing line being the Manawapori River to the ingahape. Road, and thence along the Ingahape Road. A letter from the Kapouga Club with reference to a former player of their club was referred back tor further information. .Permission was given to the Patea senior and junior teams to play matches with Wanganui College. It. was decided to invite Wellington to send a representative team to Taranaki to play a match with the local team at Hawera on one of the W inter Show days. The question of further improvements to the Hawera ground was considered, and the union decided to subsidise the Hawera Club £1 for £1 up to £2O ior further seating accommodation, the Hawera.Club to straighten the fences. The fixtures were arranged to start on the first Thursday and Saturday in It was decided to ask the clubs to present a football to any school in them respective districts entering a team m a schools competition, witli a view to encourage the Rugby game in the schools. . . • Following are the fixtures:— SENIORS.
