LYSOL POISONING. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 15. Ellen Carroll, a single woman, aged 24, died at the residence of her parents at Parnell, as the result of lysol poisoning. She had previously been ill, and consul ted a doctor, who found her ill a certain condition, and advised her to talk the matter over with her mother. The jury returned a verdict of Ijsol poisoning while in a state of temporary insanity. GISBORNE'DROWNING CASE. GISBORNE, April 15. At the inquest on Gordon Brown and Leonard Goatley drowned last week by being swept off the western groyne, a verdict of accidental drowning was returned. The magistrate commended the action of Hewett Douglas, saying that it was worthy of recognition by the Royal Humane Society. SUICIDE AT WAIPAWA. WAIPAWA, April 15. W. H. He was having a ride in a baker’s cart with another boy, and while the man in charge was delivering bread it is understood that tho horse ran off. The vehicle capsized, the other lad falling clear. A MILL HAND KILLED. NELSON, April 15. John Baffin, employed at Miller’s sawmills at Cfoixclles, was fatally injured on Saturday afternoon. He was engaged in trucking logs from the bush, when ho fell, the wheel almost severing his leg. Duffin died early on Sunday morning.
