Some railways have notified the collieries that the condition for the carriage of coal is that they must guarantee to supply the railways to the extent of 20 per cent, of tho quantity carried. Many collieries strongly protest. The revolt in South Lancashire has collapsed. The troops overawed the young desperadoes. Thousands arc now working at Wigan. They protested at tho police and squads of soldiers parading the district. Four thousand men at Horton attempted to destroy hoardings at the pit yard, hut tho police dispersed them. A SIDE DISPUTE SETTLED.
