PROTECTIVE TARIFFS.
THEIR, EFFECT IN GERMANY.

There is a growing movement for inquiry into the effects of protective tariffs. Dr. Gothein, a member of the Reichstag, in an article in the Tagoblatt, predicts that an impartial inquiry will disclose the need of an entirely new policy. Ho declares that the new commercial treaties have hindered, rather than helped, exporters.
