EGMONT NATIONAL PARK.

A meeting of tho Egmont National Park Board was held on Wednesday at the Daw&on Falls House. Present; M essrs. W. A nil strong, Co m m Uai onc r 0* Crown Lands (chairman). W. A, Collis, R. M‘K. Morrison, J. R. Hill, C. Goodson, and the secretary (Mr. 11. Stocker). Apologies were received from Motors. R. Dingle, A. H. Moore, and S. Porcy-Smith. Mr. J. Christensen, caretaker of the! Stratford House, was appointed ranger I to tho board. Mr., Morrison reported that a telephone service is being arranged Horn Stratford to the Mountain Mouse. Ihe resignation of Mr. J. A. Marchant from the board was accepted with regret. tnc allocation of the Government grant was made as follows:—North House £7O, South House £CO. East House £SO, the remaining I‘2U going into the board’s funds. Work on both the Dawson’s Falls and the Stratlorcl tracks will he undertaken by the board, a grant of £IOO bring available lor each track. Accounts to the amount of £l9l 7s 4d were passed for payment. The Dawson balls Mouse, under the management of Mr. H. Graham, is in excellent order, and the board signified its pleasure in finding tilings in such good order. The chairman and Mosars. Goodson and Hill wore authorised to sign the lease of the now North Egmont, House. A very heavy gale was experienced on the mountain on Tuesday, a huge tree being blown down across the track, necessitating the work of several men and bullock teams to remove it. Tho next meeting of the board will he held at the Stratford House.
