Sir, —Accepting what 1 considered a hint in your footnote to my letter of Tuesday * that it would be better to postpone further discussion upon tho prohibition vote until the complete figures were to hand, 1 have delayed replying thereto. It is easy to see where i “fell in.” It was hr accepting your calculation that the prohibition "vote failed by 19,427 to give a throe-fifths majority over 194,U73, tho vote oast against'. Had I checked your figures I should not havo grouped my calculation as I did; nor, indeed, have questioned your statement. Mr, Whittle’s calculation is equally correct, from the standpoint he adopts.—l am, etc., r DEMOCRAT.
