TRAIN JUMPS THE TRACK. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. NEW YORK, August 26. A passenger train on the Lehigh Valley railroad jumped the track. Two cars rolled over an embankment sixty feet into a creek. Thirty people were killed, and sixty injured. All the occupants of the dining-car were killed instantly. Many veterans returning from the Grand Army of tho Republic encampment, held at Rochester, were among the victims. The train was running fast to make up lost time. A defective rail caused the disaster. A BROKEN RAIL. NEW YORK, August 27. (Received August 28, 8.40 a.m.) In the Lehigh Valley disaster the death roll is 26. The accident was due to a broken rail.
