SPOTSWOOD.

(To tho Editor.) Sir, —In your issue of Thursday, August ‘23, I note a letter signed*by “Live and Let Live.” If this correspondent had road the'letter I fonvai'dcd to you on August 21 (and which you treated with contempt, or nearly so, you reply being that I should applj to the Laud Board) he would have konwn that 1 have not had an official reply or one through the public press to my inquiry* Since last Monday I have interviewed the Secretary of the Land Board re this matter and he informs me that tho Land Board can do as they think fit with any land under their jurisdiction. I was always under the impression that they were appointed to administer the land laws and not put influential men in possession of land that a working man was refused, or to show any favouritism. — I am. etc., D. R. COOPER.
