The Mayor" of Brunner this 1 morning wired Sir Arthur Guinness to intercede with the Government to open the Wallsend mine,* or render assistance to enable the residents to open it for work. The news re closing the mine was unexpected so soon, though rumours, to.'that effect have gained circulation lately...
