MILLS’ REWARD COMPANY. The manager’s report .for the fortnight’s work is still satisfactory and reads as follows: —“The .crosscut of further distance of 33fti making a total of 57ft. driven in a good class or sandstone country. I reported in my last report that a reef was showing in the face, since then two leads have be.en cut, one of them' carrying gold and we have seen a fair colour in the stone, that .carrying gold running north and south and underlying about: 45 per cent, west, and shoilld junction with the reef first intersected below the floor of this level Jlotorua section. The low level crosscut has been a further distance of 14ft. making 85ft. driven, and since passing the reef reported in my last report the .country has been rather-hard and is not looking so good—the reef formation \ is several leaders all running together and I failed to got . any results from, the same sp 1 decided to drive on the first leader cut in the crosscut and, the men are in three feet with the drive. The leader is composed of a splendid lacking stone impregnated with mineral,/according to the look of the ore should make gold 'at any time. Top level Motorua, section.—The rise from this level has ben put up loft, making22ft. Wc have also sunk Sft. from the surface to connect, tho rise so as'to procure ventilation but so far have not connected yet. lam saving all the ore from the rise which prospects fairly well.
