COLD MINING.

The Dominion says it is understood that Mr. “Long Drive” Walker, who went Homo some time ago, has been successful in forming a company with a capital of £100,060 to develop certain properties at AVaihi, in tho lino of the AVaihi reefs system. Cable intimation has been forwarded by the ixmdon directors ol tho-AVaihi Gold Mining Company to tho local director, Mr. C. Riiodes, notifying that the quarterly circular to he issued to shareholders contains, amongst other matters, tho following statement: consequence of ore values No. 9 level falling -off, and grade of ore crushed being now lower than up to the middle of this year, it is estimated that monthly returns will lull to about £68,000. 11 developments become no worse, and if recent average value of ore is maintained (as the'hoard of directors expect), they think quarterly dividends of 4s per share can bo continued, though lor the present the usual annual bonus must not bo relied on.”
