MINING FATALITY.

TWO MEN BURIED. Per Press Association. WESTPORT, A big fall of earth and stouo in tho Woodeud section of tho Westport Coal Company’s Deuciston mine Occurred late this afternoon, burying two men. They aro Jack Muir, an old resident, a widower, with a married daughter in Sydney and a single daughter at Potbne, ‘Wellington, and Jim Bowers, a single man, who has taken a prominent part in local boxing. Relief parties wore at onco organised, but their efforts to get near the scene of the accident were frustrated by further falls of stono.v The accident occurred in tho old workings from which for tho past two years mon have been engaged removing pillars. Minors aro now at work clearing away the fall, which I: believed to cover several chains of tho tunnel. This is understood to ho the first double fatality which has occurred in tho Westport Company’s mines.
