The committee of business men which tried to secure the modification of tho land tax has abandoned further efforts, and expresses the opinion that tho tax is the most fatal blow ever given to Australian credit in London. TARIFF ANOMOLIES. MELBOURNE, Oct. 26. , The Federal Ministers have completed a Bill fot the rectification of tariff anomolios. There will, however, bo no general revision till next session. The Wade Government’s last act was to order £300,000 worth of locomotives an hour before resigning. THE WESTRALIAN BUDGET. (Received Oct. 26, 9.55 a.m.) PERTH, Oct. 26. In the Assembly the Premier delivered the Budget. Tho year ended with a surplus of £221,000, he- estimated the revenue for the current year at £3,737,047, and the expenditure at £3,633,343.. The House of Representatives passed the Northern Territory Bril through committee.
