There is no part of the Wanganui Agricultural Show that appeals to the ladies like the Home Industries Department. Tho Wanganui Agricultural Association was tho first association that really took the matter up seriously, and they made such a success of it that the other associations have followed suit with more or less success. Last year the largo produce shod was thronged, all day lon&, both das’R of tho show, with eager sightseers, and there was no doubt the exhibition of fancy work and^ cooking was tho finest ever seen in Wanganui. Tho committee this year have spared no pains to provide classes for every kind of plain and fancy work, including knitting plain sowing, fancy sewing, embroidery, crochet, stencil work, drawn thread work, and every kind of art needle work. The cookery classes run from tho staff of life—good home-made breadar-to scones of every description, cakes of every variety, cream puffs, oocoannt ice, and every kind of delicacy. The art and technical school classes provide for every class on the syllabus, whilst the public school , classes are so numerous and varied as to give every boy and girl a chance to gain a prize.- Anyone who has not received. a schedule can obtain one on application to the secretary. Entries close November 2.
